Proverbs 20:24-30

24 A man’s steps are from the Lord;
    how then can man understand his way?
25 It is a snare to say rashly, “It is holy,”
    and to reflect only after making vows.
26 A wise king winnows the wicked
    and drives the wheel over them.
27 The spirit[f] of man is the lamp of the Lord,
    searching all his innermost parts.
28 Steadfast love and faithfulness preserve the king,
    and by steadfast love his throne is upheld.
29 The glory of young men is their strength,
    but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.
30 Blows that wound cleanse away evil;
    strokes make clean the innermost parts.

One response to “Proverbs 20:24-30

  1. Man’s steps are ordered by the Lord, how then can he understand his way? The answer is that I cannot know where God’s purposes will take me, but I can work to understand His heart and conform myself to His way. I can also tell Him the desires and dreams of my heart. This does not mean that I will get my way, but He is a loving father who crafts all things together for His purpose. The more I become like Him, the more my desires will echo His heart and will.
