Proverbs 12:1-5

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
    but he who hates reproof is stupid.
A good man obtains favor from the Lord,
    but a man of evil devices he condemns.
No one is established by wickedness,
    but the root of the righteous will never be moved.
An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
    but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.
The thoughts of the righteous are just;
    the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

One response to “Proverbs 12:1-5

  1. Hating reproof and correction is being grounded in my pride and selfishness. I can’t stand to be challenged and told I am wrong, so I shut out wisdom and God’s correction in my life.

    The root of the righteous won’t be moved. My righteousness is not rooted in me, my accomplishments, or my religiousness. But rather in Jesus, the rock of our faith. He is immutable and can not be changed. If I remain rooted in Him, I will never be moved.
