Romans 8:5-8

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

One response to “Romans 8:5-8

  1. Works can not save me or justify me. My salvation is in Christ alone. But works show where my mind resides and who I am submitting myself to. If I am ruled by my flesh, and my desires, I can not be submitted to God and His law and can not please Him.

When I am submitted to God, and His law, my life and my choices will reflect this. I will fail, and I will stumble, by it will be evident that I am submitted and constrained by God’s law.
