Acts 16:11-13

11 From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day we went on to Neapolis. 12 From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district[a] of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.

13 On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.

One response to “Acts 16:11-13

  1. They wanted to be witnesses, they wanted to share the news of Christ. They knew the culture and the customs and they went to where they expected to find people.

Being engaged in my society and my city, and being effective for Christ, means that I need to know people, know my town, be engaged, be able to speak into people’s lives, know when there is sorrow, and know when there are needs. I can’t be shut in my own little kingdom and attending to only me and expect to effect people for Jesus.
