Acts 6:5-7

This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.

So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

One response to “Acts 6:5-7

  1. They added servants to God’s ministry, so that the main focus could be the teaching of the word, and that people would not be distracted or led astray by physical needs or confrontations over human needs.

God prospered this and continued to add people to His way. The men that they chose were humble and full of the Spirit. And known for their walk with Christ.

They were so obedient to God, and true to His path, that their very enemies, the Jewish priests, began to see truth and to walk in it instead of trying to destroy this movement.
