So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. 1. God has a plan. As the movement grew, He kept the disciples focused on teaching and sharing the word and truth. He gave them wisdom to seek out wise men, full of the Spirit and wisdom, and for these men to become the first deacons.

His Kingdom is to serve in truth and in life, and He has appointed offices for each.
