James 2:11-13

11 For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,”[b] also said, “You shall not murder.”[c] If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

One response to “James 2:11-13

  1. It is not each specific sin that I should avoid. My selfishness leads me to sin. Instead, I should seek to to like Jesus Christ in every way I can. This leads to righteous living and triumph over sin.

I will have many opportunities to show mercy, or I can be a selfish, self-centered judge. If I refuse mercy to others, God will judge me without mercy.
