Hebrews 7:1-4

This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!

One response to “Hebrews 7:1-4

  1. There is quite a discussion about whether this was CHrist, or is imagery of him. Either way, it points to how great Christ is. He is the king of righteousness, He is the king of peace, and we do owe Him all that we have. He only asks for a portion, and an offering, but He is the giver and sustainer of all good things in the life of His saints.
