Acts 21:30-32

30 The whole city was aroused, and the people came running from all directions. Seizing Paul,(AR) they dragged him(AS) from the temple, and immediately the gates were shut. 31 While they were trying to kill him, news reached the commander of the Roman troops that the whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar. 32 He at once took some officers and soldiers and ran down to the crowd. When the rioters saw the commander and his soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.(AT)

One response to “Acts 21:30-32

  1. He was saved by the arrival of the occupying heathen. The end result is he is taken before Roman rulers who hear the message of CHrist. THis chain started when the “religious” of the day seized him and beat him.

How can we not see God’s sovereignty in this? Paul was willing to be used for God’s purpose and God had a unique and unpleasant, in the temporal sense, use for Paul’s life. But His eternal plans found Paul worthy to be the voice of Christ.
