Acts 19:1-4

1While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when[a] you believed?”

They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied.

  1. Although only partial word had been received, they were following Christ and seeking to walk in His way. Paul brought deeper truth and added to their understanding and to their ability.

Not all of us will be called to call people to repentance and to salvation, our ministry can be to study with believers and deepen their understanding of God and their ability to operate in the Spirit and in truth.
