Acts 16:27-30

27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” 29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

One response to “Acts 16:27-30

  1. Not only was the jailer surprised to be alive, he was flabbergasted that none of the prisoners had fled. He had committed no error, in this situation, yet he was ready to take his own life.

God delivered him in the natural and then drew him to truth and gave him understanding in the spiritual to realize that what Paul and Silas had been teaching was the truth that could save him and free him.
