Acts 16:19-22

19 When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. 20 They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar 21 by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice.”

22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods.

One response to “Acts 16:19-22

  1. Remember that God prevented them from going where they wanted to minister and He directed them here. His plan for His own glory, and the path that He asks us to walk, is not always our first choice. They confronted the possessed girl and delivered her in Jesus’ name, but they also cut into the profit margin of these men. The accusations led to their beating and seizure.

We like to plan the paths and the ways that avoid harm and discomfort, but if we claim to be obedient and to walk in His ways, we have to accept His designs.
