Acts 15:22-23

22 Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers. 23 With them they sent the following letter:

The apostles and elders, your brothers,

To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia:

Greetings.

One response to “Acts 15:22-23

  1. The elders, and the body, worked together to identify leaders in the body and to send them to the mission, or the work, with a letter from the body. This seems an effort to rid themselves of pride, to send instruction, and to show commitment to this work by investing into Antioch with truth and with the time and effort of their own leaders.

While this new outreach to the Gentiles was new and confounding to the Jews, their approach seems to be a model we can follow.
