Acts 15:19-21

19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. 21 For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.”

  1. We shouldn’t make it difficult……but here are a few traditions that they have to keep. I don’t know the cultural significance of the food prohibitions, but the sexual immorality is clearly sin and to be avoided. The food stuff was Law to them but is not sin to Gentiles.

This reminds me of the need to separate out the things that I feel strongly about, yet are not sin, and those things that the Bible teaches that we are to war against together. They thought they were being kind and light in their yoke, but they only cited one of their three rules that was sinful.
