David, a man after God’s heart, had a purpose, and he passed away. He was not immortal. Christ, who God raised from the dead, also has a purpose, and eternal purpose. He can not be conquered by death and He will not sleep or pass away. In Him is our forgiveness and our justification.
God has given us the words and the voice of the prophets and of Scripture and we must guard our hearts against the falling away that is warned of.
