Acts 5:40-42

40 His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

41 The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

  1. I don’t rejoice when I suffer, I pity myself and try to turn the attention to me and how great of a martyr that I am. I certainly don’t return right to the situations that caused me to suffer.

These guys show what true change looks like. They know that the glory is God’s, they know that they are allowed to be part of His plan, and they return to their calling even when it causes them suffering. Their actions, more than just their words, showed people that they were truly changed.
