James 4:10-12

James 4:10-12 HCSB

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.
Don’t criticize one another, brothers. He who criticizes a brother or judges his brother criticizes the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.  There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

One response to “James 4:10-12

  1. In the same thought where we are admonished to humble ourselves we are told not to judge others. Makes me think that my judgemental spirit arises from my pride and arrogance. Most legalistic Christians don’t want to admit that we judge and we sure don’t want to here that we are proud to boot.

If we humble ourselves before God, we take care of both problems. Who are we to judge is a great question.
