Galatians 1:10-12

10Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. 11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ

One response to “Galatians 1:10-12

  1. He doesn’t claims his words, or his message, as his alone. He speaks the gospel and the truth of Christ that was given to him by God. He knows that to serve God and to obey Him is to cost himself friends and admiration. He knows that the service of God is mutually exclusive to pleasing men and he first and foremost is committed to serving God.

He is contrasting himself to the false teachers who teach a message of men and who seek to soothe and to please. His desire and calling is obedience to Christ.
