Luke 24:50-53

50 When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51 While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. 52 Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53 And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.

One response to “Luke 24:50-53

  1. While He was blessing them, He ascended into Heaven. Even in His parting, He was concerned for them, loved them, and blessed them. He was returning to the Father’s side, and leaving His humanity and the pain and sin that He had to endure. Yet He loved and blessed to the end.

I often think only of myself. When I get to leave a painful and trying situation, I am not looking to the others affected and burdened. I am thinking about self-preservation and making choices in my selfishness. All aspects of His ministry give me a bar to shoot for and an example to follow.
