17Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written:

“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone’[a]?

18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”

19 The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.

One response to “Luke 20:17-19

  1. These religious leaders look like scoundrels. They seek to silence Him because He speaks truth against their actions. The religious leaders are not operating on convictions and principle, they are operating on public opinion.

I am no better. I don’t always walk in firm conviction. Nor am I always ready to hear truth when it is pointed at me. I do like to lock in on the people in the Bible who repulse me because they usually resemble me.
