Luke 15:21-24

21“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

One response to “Luke 15:21-24

  1. It is easy to hear the verse “There is no condemnation in Christ”, it is harder to live it. When I sin, I feel the weight and guilt of my sin and the deceiver tries to crush me with that guilt.

The picture Jesus shows here, of the remorseful son who does not feel worthy to be called a son, is how we often feel. The Father, casts aside the guilt and celebrates the return of the Son and even causes celebration. This is the love of God and the joy in Heaven over one sinner who comes to repentance.
