Luke 12:22-26

22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[b]? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

One response to “Luke 12:22-26

  1. I don’t find a general obligation here, but rather a specific instruction to the disciples and a kingdom principle for the remaining elect. They were to go and share, teach , and minister. They had already left their professions and their callings and they were to live off of His provision and by their faith.

He has not called all of us to this level of evangelism. He has left some of us in place to be light and salt in the professions and the circles that He has placed us in. In these situations, we are not to worry and trouble about the things that we can not control and that are in His hands. We are to be stewards over what He has entrusted to us and we are to make returns on His investments in us.
