Luke 12:13-15

13Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

14 Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?” 15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

One response to “Luke 12:13-15

  1. He was the Creator God, and the ruler of all riches. Yet He did not use His power and authority here to divide their wealth as a king like Solomon would have. His purpose was the Father’s and He knew that He was there to save and point men to the Father.

He warns against measuring our lives by possessions and He warns us that greed will come against us in all kinds of forms. We are to guard our hearts against greed. Be a good steward, don’t waste, but be content and thankful for what you have.
