Luke 10:8-12

8 “When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

One response to “Luke 10:8-12

  1. They are not rejecting these men, but the Kingdom of God that they represent and bring news of. God expects them to be humble and to be gracious when they are cared for, but He will not tolerate their rejection.

In our earth, that is increasingly rejecting Him and His plan, I see evidence of His great compassion and mercy every day in that He does not destroy us for our sin and celebrating our sin.

He tells them to heal the sick like it is a chore or duty. He has gifted and empowered them and He leaves no doubt as to what He knows these gifts will accomplish.
