Matthew 25:37-40

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

  1. I work for an org that gets excited about “big-wigs” visiting from our headquarters and I am within a profession that gets enthralled with “power”. We clean and set up refreshments and put on our best business clothes and offer “amazing presentations” to try to impress the powerful and gain their favor.

The same is true of us in the kingdom. We get excited about the rock stars of the kingdom and everyone loves having the charismatic pastor over for dinner, but what about the un-gifted people with physical or personality challenges that are hard to love? These are the people that Christ went straight to and the people we ignore and pretend not to see.

It is clear what Christ’s opinion is from the passage and we can’t hide from the truth that He wants us to love the unlovely and stop hiding in our cliques and comfort zones.
