Matthew 19:13-15

13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.

14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

One response to “Matthew 19:13-15

  1. It isn’t clear what irked the disciples, but Christ clearly disagrees with them. Whether the parents were rude, or they thought Christ was too tired, it is hard to determine. The disciples had just finished arguing over greatness and they may think that these kids are beneath the Master.

Whatever their concern, He sets the record straight by comparing Heaven to the children, by laying hands on them, and by praying for them. We can clearly see His heart toward children.
