Matthew 15:21-24

21Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.”

23Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

One response to “Matthew 15:21-24

  1. His response is curious to me. I wonder if He wasn’t testing the attitude and response of His followers so that He could change their hearts. He was sent first to Israel, but He was going to send them to the rest of the world and they had to love and care for the people they were going to share with.

There are people that are easier for me to love and people who are harder for me to care for. I have to love people and see them as Christ does so that I can be as effective as He needs me to be in His kingdom.
