Matthew 15:10-14

10Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11What goes into a man’s mouth does not make him ‘unclean,’ but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him ‘unclean.’ ”

12Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”

13He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. 14Leave them; they are blind guides.[e] If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”

One response to “Matthew 15:10-14

  1. What goes into a man’s mouth; this was based on legalism and was a yoke to bind the people in what they ate.

What comes out of a man’s mouth; this was a kingdom principle of “by their fruits you will know them”.

Jesus was trying to free people from legalism and teach them kingdom principles. He told His disciples not to war with, and worry about, the false teachers who were upset. His Father would weed them out and cut off their ministry. Our job is to share truth with those we are called to and God will be His own defender.
