Matthew 14:22-24

22Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, 24but the boat was already a considerable distance[a] from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

One response to “Matthew 14:22-24

  1. He is in control of this situation. He was controlling the crowd, He fed them and sent them to rest, the disciples, He was sending them into a testing situation to show His deliverance, and He was meeting His own need by setting aside time to be with the Father.

Ministers can’t forget to look out for their own spiritual health and run themselves ragged ministering to others. Christ had to have His quiet time with His Father, how could we in our limited strength think that we can survive alone?
