Acts 16:31-36

31They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole family.

35When it was daylight, the magistrates sent their officers to the jailer with the order: “Release those men.” 36The jailer told Paul, “The magistrates have ordered that you and Silas be released. Now you can leave. Go in peace.”

  1. The bruises, and their night in jail, resulted in a whole family coming to Christ and being saved. What are we willing to experience for Christ in order to further His will and work for the kingdom. I tend to think of myself first in my trials and not realize that God may have placed me there to change someone’s life.

  2. I love the jailers response – he wasnt concerned with what could happen by feeding and taking care of their wounds – he was overwhelmed with joy

When we are truly walking and pursuing God we cannot allow ourselves to get caught up with what the consequences may be from the world when it comes to our relationship with God – we gotta do what we feel compelled and driven to do – Let God be God – Trust Him
