Mark 6:33-34

Chapter Blog – Genesis

33 But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. 34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

  1. We are to be Christ like. We are to look with His eyes and see what He would see. There are so many people in our circles of influence that do not have a shepherd or someone to lead them to truth. Do we look at them and have compassion? I think that we don’t even see them in that light because our spiritual eyes are not open and if we do see them as sheep, often we do not react with compassion.

  2. We see them with everything but Compassion sometimes. But the first two verses confuse me when I try to visualize it. They ran around the lake before he went through it on a boat? Fast runners, huh? I wonder if Jesus saw them from his boat and started planning on what he would teach beforehand?

  3. Rick, sadly enough I dont even think we see them at all – we are so caught up with self that they dont even catch our eye, let alone see them with compassion. We are so “BUSY” with life what matters is not even seen. I recongized this at Myrtle Beach – watching the sunrise one morning, I forgot how beautiful the world is – Even though alberto called me gay and was scared to be on the balcony cuz I was getting “mushy”. But everything around us screams God, the world and the people…but we fail to see it because of our selfishness—if we gain the Christ perspective of looking at others before ourselves we can change this world!

  4. another thought is – do we run to church knowing that Christ is going to be there and we are going to learn? Do we have that same hunger and ya know the crowd wasnt a crowd at first, the crowd became a crowd because people were

    1) Running and people saw them running and were curious as to where they were running

    2) They were telling people Christ was on his way and they told what Christ had done and could do
