Mark 1:4-5

Jeremiah 52

4 And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

  1. I think there is a great point for us here in practical Christian living. John was sent ahead of Christ to prepare the way for the Christ (the truth) who was to follow him.

We should live our lives to prepare the way for the truth of the Gospel that will be sown into people’s lives. The better we prepare their lives by the example we live and the love that we sow, the more effective the ministry of the Gospel will be when it is revealed to them.

  2. This fits perfectly with the message we heard yesterday by Andy—preaching/proclaiming the message of Truth through our words and through our actions—
