1 Thessalonians 1:8-10

2 Chronicles 4

8 The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia–your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9 for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead–Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

  1. God’s second coming could happen any day. Thats why we need to disciple and reach people as much as we can, as soon as we can.

  2. This verse is the main difference between people who claim to be religious and those who have a true relationship with Christ.

These people said that that received God, but they also turned from their idols and their lifestyles and committed to a new walk..

We want to give God lip service but still serve the world through fashion and culture. We don’t want to be different and distinct from the world.

  3. They were known by the lifestyle that they were living, not the words from their mouths or their butts in a chair…they lived the very thing that was preached…yesterday and the day before we talked about and studied the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives after Salvation…these individuals experienced it and walked it out…Walk It Out Now—hehehe its a song…

Im pretty confident that if Paul was writing to the church today, he would let us know that we have to stop sitting in a seat and claiming to be a Christian and live the words we speak and the words we know—-Stop being a bum and starting making an IMPACT!
