1 Peter 1:17-19

1 Kings 23

  • 17.
  • Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.
  • 18.
  • For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers,
  • 19.
  • but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

  1. Our salvation is spoken of and the value of it, that it was with the precious blood of Christ that we were redeemed.

    We are also told to have a fear of the Father. Not because we can take no comfort in Him, but out of reverance for Him and so we don’t forget who He is.

  2. reading this I see a strong warning not to think just because of what I can do, will save me from my failures. God is not a God that favors individuals by looking at their deeds, personality or upbringing…he rules with a standard and if it is not met, there is no bending so it fits your position.
