Galatians 3:26-29

Exodus 21

26 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

  1. now,under grace, we are all equal in that we are saved by grace and sons of the new covenant. In Christ, we all become descendants of the preceeding covenants and promises. Christ is the common thread that binds together all believers and descendants

  2. Christ is the covering that makes us free from sin in God’s sight, and worthy to come before Him without the blood sacrifices required by the law. Faith in Christ makes us heirs with Him, sons and daughters of God, no matter who we are or who our parents are or our past failures or our past successes. We are exactly the same in God’s eyes as the Apostle Paul was, as John Calvin was, as any great man or woman of God that you can think of, we are just as worthy in God’s eyes as they are.

  3. Verse 27 and Whitie’s comment about Christ tieing all believers together is something I never thought about. I think I’ll use that when I’m not sure if there is anything I can say to a person in need!

  4. sorry for the late blog, I went to bed last night with a huge headache

    not that by baptism we are brought into union with Christ, but into communion with him; for we are not merely baptized in his name, and by his authority, and according to his command, and into his doctrine, and a profession of him; but into a participation of the blessings of grace which are in him, and come through his sufferings and death; for those that are baptized into Christ are baptized into his death and resurrection from the dead; we are led by faith to behold the cleansing of our souls, and the remission of our sins by his blood, and our justification by his righteousness;

    male or female— the ladies in both the jewish customs and heathen/gentile customs were not allowed to participate in all of the rituals, rites and ceremonies and Paul is letting the galatian church that in the eyes of Christ, the purpose of his death is available to male or female…that in his eyes they are the same, the blood works the same.
