Joel 3:7-10

Psalm 108

7 “See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to which you sold them, and I will return on your own heads what you have done. 8 I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far away.” The Lord has spoken.

9 Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack. 10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, “I am strong!”

  1. The Lord readies us for battle, but He goes at our front. The Lord has a dat when He will repay the nations of the world for their evil to Israel and He will not forget the evil done to them. He even says that He will continue it to the next generation by selling the children into bondage far from home.

  2. I know that there are a lot of deep issues concerning the nation of Israel and that here God talks about punishing those who wronged that nation. This passage really makes me think about how people treat eachother. I don’t really have a lot of control over how our nation supports Israel (aside for being able to vote… or having an opinion about the issues going on… and deciding to support or stand against government positions)…but what I do have control over is how I treat the people around me on a daily basis… they may not be Israelites… but because of Christ’s sacrifice we are all able to come into right relationship with him… we are all God’s children. So… it just got me thinking about how I can improve the way I treat others… God’s children….

hmm… Sometimes it is hard being a waitress because so many of the waitresses talk about eachother and especially talk about their customers.. I try so hard to keep my thoughts to myself and only say things that lift people up… the thing I am having a hard time with is trying to avoid listening to others. Sometimes waitresses want to complain to me about a customer… and I try to say things like… “try not to let them bother you”… and try to get them to think positive and stop talking bad about people.. but a lot of times I feel like I’m not doing enough to stop the gossip…. I honestly don’t think it is my place to stop people from gossiping because they have to make that decision for themselves…. all I can do is control my words and find a way to avoid being around people when they do… sigh* I dunno. any advice?

  3. Well Iv been gone for way to long so im kinda lost on whats going on, But like rick said God is with us in battle not just with but right beside us.

  4. take what you have right now and let God turn them into weapons…Thinking about that, I think about ministry and the gifts/talents/abilities we have…without God we can use them for our own selfish gain and be successful, but when we allow God to take over and use them, it is able to defeat enemies and lead/protect others….when we give our gifts to God we can become very effective for God. But the key is we have to hand them over to God
