Joel 3:11-13

Psalm 109

11 Come quickly, all you nations from every side, and assemble there. 12 “Let the nations be roused; let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations on every side. 13 Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow– so great is their wickedness!”

  1. There is no physical place called the Valley of Jehoshaphat. This led me to study the term, and led to a cool study.

This is most likely a reference to the judgement at Armeggedon. So why call it the Valley of Jehos? Jehoshaphat was the witness to a great battle in the OT that Israel did not have to fight. God told them to go up to the cliffs and watch and He destrouyed their enemies.

THis is a correlation to Armeggedon where we will ride with Christ, but HE will be the one to judge and to overcome the enemy.

The phrase is only used by Joel and seems to have significance to the author.

  2. and to build on that Rickster, Jehosophat was a judge in the OT and correlates to Christ the Judge. Amazing how much you can learn and grow from a little study about something you just overlook and not give a second thought, which is why we are here.
