2 Timothy 3:14-17

www.gypr.wordpress.com Psalm 23

14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

  1. Wasn’t this one of our bible verses that we had to do like the second week…verse16 has a lot in it. says all scripture is God breathed says it is perfect and divine and it gives life or has life or something like that; then is says what the Word of God does and why. i still think i’m missing something…

  2. God has given us the Word so that we might be equipped to accomplish what He has asked of us. He also reassures us by telling us in verse 16 that we can trust Scripture because it comes from Him and He is its source.

Paul also tells Timothy to continue in the truth he has learned from SCripture and that it is the Word that will bring him wisdom.

  3. “so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

It is good to know that we have everything we need in the word of God. We talked a little bit about this tonight, that we should truly seek what the scriptures say about things we are going through in our life.

  4. I really studied out the word rebuke because it always seems to have the negative feel to it…but its really not…Rebuke is to gently reveal the danger ahead. Correction is the revealing of the consequences of the action that you tried to rebuke them from. Rebuke comes from an individual that sees you heading in a direction, getting ready to do something that does not align with the Word of God and they gently try to steer you back to the path. They are trying to show you that hey you are entering the danger zone…I think of when you are driving in a neighborhood that you are unfamiliar with and you come to a stop sign to go right, left or straight and when you look straight you see a sign that says DEAD END…you wont go down there cuz ya know you will have to turn around..>That sign just rebuked you…It gently, quietly, calmly told you dont go this way if you dont know where you are going cuz you will have to turn around…Will you allow your leaders to be dead end signs of your life ? Please…anyways thats what I came up with the word rebuke
