Romans 1:26-32

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

  1. this kind of reminds me of when sin came into the world.when adam ate the apple they were ashamed that they were not clothed.in verse 26 it says:”God gave them over to shamefull lusts”….which means they were exactly like adam and eve thay were ashamed of what they were doin or what they looked like.It also says:”In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another” which says to me that this coudlve been the first homosexaul relationship.which is a really big sin and you can easily be snt to hell for this sin.

  2. I think these verses are talking about how we do things and we really dont make them a habit but once we do it the first time it is like a never ending story. Like when you eat cookies. You always put your hand back in the jar no matter how full you are or no matter how many times your mom has told you to stop eating them. We always go back for more no matter what is trying to keep us from reaching what we want. Like the men in this verse they kept on having sex with other mens wives.. they didnt care as long as they got what they wanted even if it was to go against God.

  3. It to me is like getting pulled away and not looking back to see who really help you through all those trials. But to you it might seem nothing is happening and everything is fine and that you don’t see yourself changing but God does, and he hates to see us like this because it isn’t the truth.

  4. this looks like our world today. homosexuality and other imoral sexual acts came into the world and then STDs followed. God gave a choice, His creation chose, He gave the consequences. and today many many unsaved people have heard what hell is like and somewhat of who Jesus is but they have such a deprived mind that they use the word hell in a joke or common language.

  5. This ties in with what PK told us about on Sunday, and what they are trying to pass a hate crimes bill about same sex relationships. Okay, so everyone has their beliefs and what not, but in the BIBLE the book were God tells us right from wrong it says, that those have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Those know what is in the Bible but they chose what they want to go with and they know its something God wants us to be NO part in what so ever. It is just the devil tearing at those people telling them that what they wanna hear is the right thing rather than what God wants us to do.

  6. what stands out to me is that it seems once you start down that road…once you begin your journey of living life for your desires…you are so easily led off the right path

you do one thing wrong, its that much easier to do another, even more wrong act, and then hey why not this..its a never ending cycle…it just gets worse and worse, especially when “everyone else is doing it”

God is the way…without Him and His word as “a lamp unto our feet” we stray and get off course.

that last part hit me hard..”Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”….. isnt that so true!! we surround ourselves with people who will be our “yes” people..people who will tell us what we want to hear not remind us of what we NEED to know..remind us of Gods words…we are so worried about stepping on toes, being liked, we let things slide that we know is wrong, and do nothing to help, to discourage..nothing to rock the boat

  7. I don’t think that this passage leaves much to debate on whether or not God approves of homosexuality. I wonder how denominations “nullify” this passage to allow clergy who are not hetrosexual.

These people have been presented with God’s plan and the consequences for rejecting His plan, and they choose to enjoy their sin and ignore the fact that there will be consequences. As I posted yesterday, this is only one example of such behavior. Don’t get all comfortable just because you don’t battle this. Anytime that you reject God’s plan and pursue your own desires, you put yourself in the crosshairs of God’s wrath and are on dangerous footing. We must continually stay in the Word to highlight our error and sin and then ask God for forgiveness and mercy when we see our iniquity. Ignoring our transgressions and continuing in our sin puts us on even footing with these depraved persons of Romans 1.

(Even though God is clear in this chapter on how He feels about this sin, His love is no less intense for the souls of these people. His holiness may reject their sin, but His compassion longs for them to embrace His design and return to their Creator)

  8. reading this chapter I have come to this conclusion…this is normal behavior!!! Hold on dont freak out..my point is this…this is normal behavior for those that just choose to live life for themselves…You dont have to try to do these things, its not a debate…its natural..it will happen if you reject God and live your own way…When you choose to follow after Christ and pursue Him, then the battle to overcome these natural behaviors begins…Remember…its not hard to go to hell and do your own thing, its a struggle and a fight to live the standard and life God has called us to live.
