John 18:36-37

www.gypr.wordpress.com Numbers 15

36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” 37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

  1. you can not live in this world and not sin.you have to follow christ and repent.you have to pray to the lord but when you pray make sure you say his name like:thy god in father
    dear god in heaven etc

  2. Jesus says to Pilate that earth is not his kingdoms world so he has been sent here just to do wat his Father has asked of him and that was to die on the cross to save all of us. Its almost like Jesus is in outsider kind off because he said if this was his kingdom then his servants would protect him and pilate and everyone doesnt want to believe the power that Jesus has to work miricals and do all the things he says he has done and can do. Jesus says the he was born to be King and to tell the truth and those who believe the truth follow Him…pilate is choosing not to believe the truth but if i could go back in time and honestly think that pilate believed every word Jesus said to him and i think he had to live with the guilt of cruicifying and inicent man.

  3. so i guess that jesus is explaining himself here about what he is doing, who he is doing it for(us and christ) ..and so we can enter into the kingdom of heaven when we die if we live on what god wants us to and do what he wants us to even though it may not be what we want, its what we need..like pastor e preached about on sunday, if we are commited to the lord and want to live for him, then we have to live the way that he wants us to even though it may not be what we want.

  4. again the whole concept of truth comes out again and I still havent got a full grasp of what it means cuz i know there is some depth to it and I have to be patient and just keep reading and studying the idea of Jesus as truth—

JEsus again is informing the people that He is not about this world but comes from the Father…His mission has always been a spiritual one, not one of carnal or flesh…Which made me think…If we are to be like Christ, he is our example, than we need to get a hold of the fact that everything we do is not of this world, about our flesh about carnal things that will evaporate, rust, die, disappear or be forgotten, its about the will of The Father…The spiritual things…

  5. An assertion by Christ that He was a king, but that He was not of this world. Jesus is trying to teach again that this world is a season, and a test, and that eternity is the grade or the result of the test here on earth. We are not to look to the earth as anything more than a stepping stone on the way to eternity. Yes He was a king, but His kingship did not matter in this dispensation, His obedience and submission mattered here so that His kingdom could be celebrated and enjoyed by His followers in the next dispensation.

  6. This fact that Jesus’ kingdom is not of this world is something that we have a hard time grasping and living. The Word says that we are in this world but not of this world.
john 15:19–If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
We are not supposed to live like those in the world, or prize the things that the world thinks are worthy or notable. We are to live as strangers here, living by a culture and guidelines that mostly do not make sense to the world and may be even ridiculed for our differences. This is not easy, but to strive for this is what makes the difference between those who really want to be disciples of Christ and those who dont.
