John 15:5-8

And Now For The Right Post = Drain Bamage 2 Samuel 7

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

  1. the biggest thing i just took from this passage is that he says if you remain in me and MY WORDS REMAIN IN YOU……So many time i have gone around and im sure im not the only that i have gone around believing in Jesus and all that he did and taking him with me but i forget his words (bible) in my daily life. I always thought,,hey i know Jesus, that is good but there is soo much more that needs to be done….like following his commandments.

  2. Well, pretty much everything I said in my post on Tues nite, Jesus says here. We are shooting ourselves in the foot if we dont remain in Him. When we choose to make the little compromises inm our lives that lead to bigger compromises that lead to bigger compromises, when we get to the point where we are barely even pretending to have any sort of relationship with Christ, that’s when we are shriveled up and dead, and God cuts us off and look out! cause some fire is comin’!! I know many times we have situations come into our lives that are the direct result of choices we have made and we want to know why God let this happen. When we separate ourselves out from under the cover of God’s grace by deliberate disobedience or compromise, we will suffer the consequences of letting our sinful nature reign.

  3. PK preached on this for a little bit on sunday…Who was paying attention.

if my words remain in you…Instantly I thought about the Word of God aka the Bible…one for sure way that we will remain in the Lord is if we remain constant in reading the Word of God and studying…AKA THE BLOG…Hopefully we all catch hold of the purpose of this blog..its to remain in Christ and its done through the Word of God…

  4. The WOrd says that He (Christ) is the vine and that we are the branches.

    The job of the vine:
    -To grow new branches
-To bring life and nutrients to the branches
-To hold all the branches together
-To support the fruit of the branches

    The job of the branches:
-To accept and use the nutrients the vine brings
    -To grow and produce
-TO bring forth fruit after the type of the vine
-To flower and grow fruit and show the beauty of the vine (the glory of God)

This symbolism tells the story of our job in Christ and it is a beautiful way that God chose to teach us

  5. I remember growing up I hated picking up sticks. That was always my job and it was always so boring. I could never figure out why there were so many sticks on the ground. I mean what happened to them to make them fall off? So that got me thinking tonight on a spiritual level what makes us fall off? Well the way I see it there are only a few good reasons why sticks fall off trees. The stick was weak to begin with. The stick had not had a supply of nutrients or water for some time. The inside of the stick was dead, even though the outside looked fine, it was no longer green with life on the inside. But then something else happened….some outside force finished the job. A bird, a kid, a squirrel something came and put pressure or applied force to the stick. Then the stick broke, fell to the ground. So that’s how so many sticks fall off the tree…but what makes people fall off of God? Why do we look around and see so many dead Christians laying lifeless on the ground? Here is a start no nutrients no water cut off from their life source. The Word, prayer, worship, fellowship with other Christians….these are our nutrients this is our water. Fix it or you’ll wind up on the ground…and before you know it being burned with the rest of the yard waiste.

  6. If you dont follow Christ, then you are basically here for no reason. He is our Creator, and the one that made us and brought us here. If we dont follow him, then we wont go to heaven, we go to hell, and if we go to hell, then we arent with the REAL Creator. The real Creator loves us, and wants the best for us.
