36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37 It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’[b]; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
38 The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”
“That’s enough!” he replied.

In response to their petty quibbling about greatness, He points out the danger their truth will put them in and that they will be faced with situations that require swords for protection. He is trying to put into context their future, but they, with temporal and worldly hearts, bring Him two swords as if this would be enough for 11 men to use against the Roman occupiers.
In the context of what He was trying to teach, their response seems childish. Yet, I, all the times that I respond in my own thinking and logic an no less simple. It is His revelation and His Spirit that shows me truth and reveals His word and guides me away from my own understanding.
