2 Timothy 4:19-22
www.gypr.wordpress.com Psalm 29
19 Greet Priscilla and Aquila and the household of Onesiphorus. 20 Erastus stayed in Corinth, and I left Trophimus sick in Miletus. 21 Do your best to get here before winter. Eubulus greets you, and so do Pudens, Linus, Claudia and all the brothers. 22 The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you.

I think these verses are talking about just encouraging you to pursue your walk with God even if it requires a long drawn out process.

This is the end of Paul’s letter to Timothy and he finishes it by asking Timothy to greet some people who are in Ephesus with him (vs 19)… and he tells Timothy that a bunch of people he was with said hello (vs 21)

I read this chapter on crosswalk and like sara said it is the ending of the letter and a kinda list of things he wants to do or people wants to see before he dies.

Ok, not much to this passage, just Paul using the letter to do what letters are for, to send messages to some people he knew. He asks Timothy to check on someone who was sick, and tells him to say hello to some others and that others say hello also.

I know this is a letter, but why include the goodbyes and formalities in the Bible, what real purpose does it serve? What is God trying to reveal to us, show us, teach us?
Only thing I can think of is it reveals Paul’s “Soft” side, the humanistic side…We see such a Godly man that we may have a tendency to put him on a pedestal…These personal moments allow us to relate to paul and connect with him on a emotional level.

Paul knows he will be beheaded soon. He is still planning on a winter there
with wanting the coat, cuz he has faith in God even thou he could die today.
He could be put to death today but yet he is only thinking of doing Gods work, he wants his most important papers and writings, how will he do this
being chained up? He has faith only in God, he does not blame the others
for not standing by him, but praises God for always being with him.
He wants to say goodbye to his close friends and give instructions so they will carry on Gods work also.
