1 John 2:5

But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: NIV

1 John 2:4

The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.

If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.
